Terms of sale, refunds and delivery

Who you are buying from
MapShopCompany, Spring Hill, Tennessee. When you buy on this site, you are buying from us. Our Etsy shop is a separate storefront; an order placed there follows Etsy's own policies as well as ours.
What we sell
- Restored map files. Print-ready digital files of maps restored from public archives. The buy buttons on this site take you to a Stripe checkout page.
- Prints. Where we offer posters or framed prints, each one is made to order by our print partner after you pay, then shipped to you.
- Requests. The request slip on each map page costs nothing. We search the archive, show you the real sheet we found, and you pay only if you decide to buy.
Paying
Stripe runs the checkout. We never see your card number. Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. You get a receipt from Stripe by email.
Delivery of files
After checkout you land on a thank-you page with your download links, and the same links go to the email you gave at checkout. Each link works for 7 days, so save the files somewhere safe. If a link has expired or the email never arrived, reply to that email and we will send a fresh one.
Delivery of prints
Prints are made to order after payment, then printed and shipped by our print partner. We email you the tracking when it ships. We do not quote a fixed arrival date, because production and carrier times vary. If the tracking has not moved for a long while, write to us and we will chase it.
Refunds and returns
- Digital files cannot be returned, so they are non-refundable once delivered. If a file is faulty (it will not open, or it is not the map the listing shows), tell us within 14 days and we replace it or refund it.
- Prints are made to order, so we cannot take them back for a change of mind. If a print arrives damaged or misprinted, send us a photo within 14 days of delivery and we reprint it or refund it, your choice.
- Personalised items (a star map drawn for your date and place, or anything made to your details) cannot be returned. If we got a detail wrong, we redraw it.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. Allow a few business days for your bank to show it.
Using what you buy
Every map we sell begins as a public scan (Library of Congress, USGS, NASA, FAA, GEBCO, and map data from OpenStreetMap contributors), and each listing says so. What you pay for is the finding and the restoring. The files you buy are yours to print and enjoy, as many times as you like, for yourself and as gifts. Please do not resell or redistribute our restored files as they are.
Mistakes and changes
If a price or a listing is plainly wrong, we may cancel the order and refund you in full before delivery. We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when we last did.
Your rights
Nothing on this page limits the rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
How to reach us
Reply to any email we have sent you (your receipt, or the email with your files), or use the request slip on any map page and tell us what is going on. We read every message.
